Infants should not be given water for atleast 6 months. Mother's milk is the best for them. It gives all the essential nutrients to the infants.

Babies should have their milk for they are infant. I agree with you that they shouldn't be drinking water. Milk is still the best, for them to have a healthy body.

When my son, was born in 1989, I was a member of the LLL and was taught that babies did not need water or anything else, other than mother's milk. So, I exclusively breadfed my son for 2 years and I never gave him a drop of water.

Agreed, milk is not the most thirst quenching of drinks... Thanks for the advice though - would not have known that.
