The others I have tried don\'t fit as well on me or my wife.

As for the foward facing, you can do that with the Baby Bjorn as well. This is done during the earlier years to prevent suffocation. Once the little kid can lift up their own head, you switch them around.

Welccome to noodad, Charlie.

Re: noodad » The Predad Dictionary Part 2: Baby Gifts

Hey all, Nice site!

We are about 3 months to due date, and are looking at the expensive stuff. On the bjorn carrier, you mention the branded one is best... is it just the quality? or a design issue with the knock offs?

Also, we\'ve seen the similar type where the kid is facing away from the parent, and those look kool too. Are they the same thing just converted or are they a different model/style? It looks like there is a pad that rises to support the baby\'s head in the model pictured...

Thanks!
Charlie

Re: noodad » The Predad Dictionary Part 2: Baby Gifts

The snoogle is the big brother to the boppy. It is shaped like a capital \"J\" and is about four and a half feet long. Your wife will appreciate this especially when she is pregnant. It goes under he head, down the back (for support), through the legs and the \"swoop \" part goes under her belly for more support.
After birth it can curl up in many shapes for breast feeding and even help the child learn how to sit. It comes with a washable cover too. They run about $50 at, you guessed it, Babies \'R\' Us (they seem to have everything don\'t they?). Although pricey I won mega points and with 7 weeks to go my wife looks like Linus from Peanuts dragging it everywhere she goes in the house. It was worth every penny since she was considering buying four or five pillows to use in bed for back support and still get a boppy after birth. 8)
