COVER!!!! Use a wipe to cover the goods as quickly as humanly possible. Just accept it now that each diaper change is going to require a minimum of two wipes: one for cover, and the other for actually wiping. You\'re gonna get sprayed. The little newbies are phenomenal at letting lose those little cannons as soon as the cold air graces them. I\'ve been hit in the mouth, the cheek, the chest, the arm.....he\'s also hit the wall, the floor, the changing table. And this is even after it\'s been established that the deed has been done. You just never know what they may still have waiting for you. I will say that the wild sprays have definitely declined as our son has gotten older---thankfully.

Your boy will always go whenever he wants to. he\'s a guy after all :) The cold air sometimes triggers urination. A rare piece of trivia is that streakers tend to pee like racehorses while sitting in the ol\' paddy wagon after their run. That was totally unsubstantiated. Just thought I would make something up to feel like I\'m in the know.
Personally, I think the cloth is a little silly. You aren\'t covering up a dead body here. The thing needs to breathe. And I believe those who get hosed are those that change the diaper too early. let them do their thing, then you change them.

Knock on wood, I have not been sprayed once in my son\'s 14 month old life.

I heard every time you change a boy you\'re supposed to put a cloth over his little general, because as soon as that diaper comes off He\'s in Attack mode. Aquiring target and firing. Is this true?

If you spread vaseline in the anus area and around the area, it will be easier for you next time. The poodad won\'t stick to it and it will be another line of defense against diaper rash.
