I actually packed well...maybe too well. Both my wife and I had rolling suitcases (yes I mean 2 full rolling suitcases full of stuff) which we brought to triage with us - only to be told by the head nurse that the hospital is not a hotel...so I took it all back to the car. Our Subaru then became a giant locker for the next 5 days..which worked great.
A note on the food thing - don\'t eat in front of your wife. My wife couldn\'t eat solid food for few days. If I had brought a big Mac and fries up to the recovery room her head would have spun 360 and pea soup would fly ala Exorcist style.

My son is due in 2 1/2 weeks. We\'re mostly packed, but now I\'m going to finish as soon as I get home from work today!

Packing the bag that you and your wife will take to the hospital is very important. It is important that you pack the right stuff and it is important that you pack it immediately

Oh thats really something very essential to do 1month before the expected due date. I forget this but after reading this I myself packed everything as next month is my EDD. Thanks for informing.

Hospitals vary in their policies about what you are allowed to bring with you when you have your baby. You may want to take a few items from home, such as your own pillows, to make the environment more personal and less clinical. Check what the hospital provides and what you can bring yourself, but be aware that hospitals can be short on space.
