Flying with toddlers is sometimes so tiring especially if the kid gets easily bored. There was a time that a child had tantrums in the plane because he is already tired for long hours of travel. I think if you fly with your toddler, you must bring something that will entertain him like a story book or his favorite toy. In my case, I always bring my child's favorite blanket so that it will somehow make him comfortable while traveling.

I travel a lot with my kids, things really get worse at time, nice to see someone who also kind of face the same problems!

The decision to take the train for 6 hours or drive for 6 hours each way to St. Louis for a party is one I will regret everyday for the rest of my life. Not as harsh of travel restrictions as when flying, but boy oh boy, I will drive anywhere up to 10 hours away by car at this point. Imagine my horror as I\'m smelling the usual poo and lurching my way to the rather generous toilet on the train only to discover that not only are there only three wipes left in the beg, but that his poo is running down the inside of his pants. I can only imagine what changing a nasty diaper in an airline toilet must be like.

Due to recent activity in the UK bomb plot we are now limited on what we can bring aboard with us. :sigh

Thumbs up on airlines with in flight TV. If you want to fly to HNL from Boston, trek down to EWR and fly nonstop via CO on a 767-400 with personal TV\'s! 10 hrs nonstop may be a nightmare with babies though?

Wahoo, for us lucky folk that fly out of Boston, Delta Airlines still uses the Song planes in flights to Florida. Which means you get the TVs on your way to see The Mouse

I think Song went out of business as a separate enterprise, but Delta is probably still using the planes under the regular colors--so you may get lucky with the in-flight entertainment system in the head rests during some Delta flights.
Consider your detination before stressing about your kid making noise. If you\'re headed to see the Mouse, the plane is going to be filled with families anyway. If you\'re heading to some other vacation destination, people are generally going to be in a good mood and more understanding. A midweek flight to a major city would likely have more business travelers, and a lot of those suits might not find your kid\'s antics endearing--not that you should give a frog\'s fat ass what other passengers think anyway. As long as you\'re doing your best to keep your kid happy and quiet, there\'s not much else you can do.
On car seats, make sure it is FAA approved. Some of the approved car seats don\'t meet FAA muster--especially the booster seats with the back support. You can\'t use those. I think there\'s a label on the side of the car seats that has the information.
DVD players: if you don\'t want to buy one, some airports rent them. You drop them off at your destination airport. Check the airport\'s website to see if the service is available.
