  • Well said! I\'m a guy, but frankly I wouldn\'t leave that sort of mag lying around unless I was only expecting visitors who were totally OK with it. Like your game night mates for instance.

As far as kids are concerned, they pick up on things really fast. Remember that thing garbage in garbage out? Its true... think about it.
  • I always thought if it made you feel tingly, it was probably objectification...
  • My wife grew up with Playboy on the coffee table so Stuff, Maxim, SI , ect... is A-OK in our house. She would not allow and full nudity mags but she enjoys reading my issues of Stuff and Maxim... (She even points out a few things ;) )
  • The SI Swimsuit issue is nothing more than a brilliant marketing initiative to keep (newsstand) sales up during a dead period in sports. The models are the highest paid super models in the world who fight for the opportunity to be in the pages of this issue.

That being said - it\'s completely a personal house-by-house issue. One person\'s objectification is another\'s daily life.
  • I am also a Cosmopolitan Magazine reader and every month they feature a “Hot Dude” and I totally read Cosmo to gawk at the “Hot Dude.
  • I’m sorry, the swimsuit issue holds no appeal to me.
  • How is, "just looking at hot chicks in bikinis" NOT objectifying women?
  • Not sure why Beyonce ever deserved to be on the cover of SI. There are tons of girls that look better than she does. Great swimsuits in the issue though.
