Instead of all that trouble I would book some spare rooms at the Costa Rica Hotel and fly out of the country. I'm sure that the kids would appreciate a foreign trip to Costa Rica. It's en exotic place and there are lots of things to do there for kids especially that Costa Rica is mostly a vacation resort.
